Our Marketing and Loyalty team is the strategic force behind United’s industry-leading brand and experience, supporting revenue growth by turning customers into lifelong United flyers. Our marketing communications, market research and brand teams drive travelers’ familiarity and engagement with the United brand. Our loyalty team manages United MileagePlus®, building travel and lifestyle partnerships that customers can engage with every day, and works with our Star Alliance partners to ensure United can take you anywhere you want to go.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Manager - Strategic Partnerships, will lead partnership expansion building multi-touch partnerships with a focus on Data Collaboration, MileagePlus Loyalty Non-Air partnerships, and Media. As a strategic leader and entrepreneur at heart, you will build a dynamic deal framework and robust business development process to prospect new business, foster relationships, leading deal negotiation, integrating/planning and overall partnership management. This role demands a strategic visionary who will create and drive success of a partnership from end to end. Dedicated to creating immersive and personalized experiences to surprise and delight of our United customers while simultaneously driving net-new revenue growth across Kinective Media by United Airlines, and leading those partnerships up to scale and sustain growth in our permanent portfolio.

  • Lead all aspects of the development of strategy for new MileagePlus Loyalty Partnerships through to execution, and provide comprehensive documentation and best-in-class guidelines
  • Create and implement best in class Partnership experiences, products, operating models and marketing campaigns for both existing and new Partnerships, to generate buzz, bring the value of the program to life for members across all categories of discretionary consumer spend, and enhance return on investment
  • Through the above, support broadening and deepening data shared by members, supported by explicit and clear privacy and usage consents, to be used in turn to personalize and optimize value for all Partner-related member interactions
  • Develop, and implement new technologically led, data enabled new channels such as MPX (mobile app) and how that integrates and can scale across the Kinective Media by United Airlines audience base
  • Manage deal negotiations in a fast-paced environment covering both MileagePlus Loyalty and Media
  • Partner with the Business Unit teams and their objectives for all deal prospecting and work collaboratively with cross-functional partners on framework and strategy
  • Communicate and manage relationships regarding deal points across the organization
  • Lead collaboration with Legal, Finance, Planning & Integration and other teams to ensure adherence to all relevant rules, regulations and data privacy requirements

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Design, Marketing, Advertising, Digital Media (or related)
  • 7+ years of experience in Sales, Business Development, Account Management (or related)
  • Deep knowledge of Loyalty and Media space
  • Ability to create complex deal models
  • Ability to negotiate complex deals that span across multiple products
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Create structure and provide value amid ambiguity
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally to achieve business results
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
