Brock Canada Field Services is looking for a Rope Access Level 3 Supervisor for an upcoming long-term opportunity.
SUMMARY: A Rope Access Technician’s main responsibility is to access hard to reach areas without scaffold or work platforms. They are responsible for various duties such as inspections, painting touch ups, washing windows or bldgs., pressure washing, water proofing, insulation, caulking and other kinds of work at height or high angle work. This candidate will create rigging and rescue plans as well as assist with Job safety analysis.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: - Must have previous Rope Access experience
- IRATA Level 3, multiple Re-certifications preferred
- Must be able to clearly communicate and educate workers, supervision, safety and the client on rope access maneuvers, procedures, best practices, and safety bulletins.
- Secondary trade tickets an asset, preference to red seal insulators
- Work for 12 hours a day in an environment where temperatures may reach from -40° to 40° C, both indoors and outdoors in the sun.
- Must be able to work while suspended in a harness for extended periods of time.
- Work in an environment in which vibrations and noise are moderate to severe and noise level may require the wearing of hearing protection devices.
- Work in confined spaces for 4-7 hours per day; stand or walk for long periods.
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding at extreme heights.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds often and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Maintain footing on surfaces which are sometimes slippery.
- See well (naturally or with correction) and distinguish colors.
- Hear well (naturally or with hearing aid).
- Must be able to effectively communicate with other employees, supervision, and the client.
- Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and feel objects; and coordinate well the use of hands or fingers and eyes.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the work location.
- CSTS and Fall Protection are minimum requirements, other safety tickets as required by site.
- LSE (Leadership for Safety Excellence) training or obtaining of certification within 3 months.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Accessing hard to reach areas without scaffold or work platform.
- Utilize specialized knowledge of Rope Access Technology to manage the safety of crews engaged in rope access activities, organize work functions and supervise crews.
- Descend, ascend and transverse ropes for access and work while suspended by harness.
- Perform duties such as inspections, painting touch ups, washing windows, pressure washing, water proofing, insulation, caulking and other kinds of work at height or high angle.
- Must comply with all safety regulations of Brock Canada
- Ensures that work is performed in accordance with Contractor Specifications and/or as directed by the Contractor’s Representative.
- Ensures they are following the applicable Contractor’s Safety Procedures and OH&S regulations
- Perform minor repair/maintenance activities at height or high angle.
- Assures that the proper equipment is being used for the specified tasks.
- Reads specifications, such as blueprints and data, to determine requirements.
- Performing work with co-workers in a safe, responsible, and cooperative manner.
- Required to complete safety paperwork such as FLRA’s, Start Cards, Rescue & Rigging plans, etc.
