Job Description

Title: Technical Program Manager
Location: Remote in Minneapolis, MN
Compensation: $100,000-$115,000 + bonus

We are a small and rapidly growing telecom and fiber optics company looking to hire a Technical Program Manager as soon as possible. In this position, you will help oversee the implementation of fiber optics services for our clients. An ideal candidate will have experience in customer implementation, program management or project management, with a focus on construction and fiber optics services. 

Reporting to the Director of Support Operations, you will ensure that our clients receive excellent service and that projects are delivered smoothly and efficiently. 

This is a full time, permanent position on a remote basis. We are looking for candidates in the greater Minneapolis area as candidates must be willing to travel to customer sites as business needs require to support and advance ongoing projects (likely less than 10% travel). 

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the implementation phase.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and effectively.
  • Lead the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a smooth transition from sales to implementation.
  • Develop and execute project kickoff plans, outlining objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Manage the end-to-end implementation of fiber optic projects, including coordination with internal teams and third-party vendors.
  • Ensure projects are executed according to client specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Coordinate site visits, technical assessments, and other activities required for successful project implementation.
  • Identify potential issues and risks during the implementation process and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Provide timely resolutions to any challenges that arise, ensuring minimal disruption to the project.
  • Monitor the quality of work and ensure that all deliverables meet client expectations and industry standards.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present implementation status reports and updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain detailed records of project progress, client interactions, and implementation activities.
  • Continued development and documentation of all internal processes inline with industry best-practices that support scale and efficiency.

Must Haves:

  • At least 5 years of experience in customer implementation, program management or project management, with a focus on construction and fiber optic services.
  • Strong understanding of fiber optic technology, installation, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of construction methodologies and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage client relationships effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex implementation challenges.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.

Bonus If You Have It (Not Required):

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Telecommunications, or a related field 
  • PMP or similar project management certification
