The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is the agency charged with licensing and regulating State of Florida businesses and professionals, such as cosmetologists, veterinarians, condominiums, hotels, and restaurants. Our mission is to license efficiently and regulate fairly, and we strive to meet this goal in our day-to-day operations.


The Work You Will Do:

This position is located within the Bureau of Standards and Registration of the Division of Condominiums, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes. This in-office position handles filings that are submitted to the Division for review.


Your Specific Responsibilities:

  • Examines filings submitted to the division to determine whether such documents comply with the requirements of the applicable laws and rules.
  • Examines filings within the timeframes required by law, rule, or bureau procedures. The primary job tasks are reading large files, conducting research, and writing letters.
  • Prepares deficiency notices, approval letters, documentation relating to the filling rejections, and related correspondence pursuant to applicable laws, rules, and bureau procedures.
  • Inputs deficiencies, responses, extensions, and approval data into the filing tracking database. Performs quality control for project and developer and manages entity data input by others. Codes documents immediately upon approval to facilitate permanent retention.
  • Participate in ongoing bureau training programs and section meetings, especially to promote accuracy in comprehension of applicable laws and rules and consistency between sections and bureaus.
  • Prepares appropriate documentation, upon request, related to compliance of filed or unfiled documents.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to efficiently read and interpret large volumes of documentation within tight timeframes.
  • Proficient in the use of technology including software, hardware, and data systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable Florida Statutes.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to multi-task.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university OR
  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of office; OR
  • A high school diploma and four years of office experience;
