Job Description

Addison Group Los Angeles, in partnership with our client in Los Angeles County, seeks a talented Real Estate Development Accountant on a direct hire basis.

Job - This Real Estate Development Accountant will be performing General Ledger accounting tasks, loan draws, and filling out tax schedules. You will report to the Controller.

Job Site Status (Onsite/Hybrid/Remote) – Our client has a hybrid schedule (two (2) days/week) at the office.

Compensation/Benefits – Salary range is $90,000-$115,000/year. Our client supplements base compensation with bonuses and the usual fringe benefits.

REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT ACCOUNTANT TASKS

Construction Project Accounting

· Track progress of all developments in the pipeline

· Maintain all cost accounting functions (journal entries for job cost allocations, accruals, capitalization, and fixed asset transfers)

· Maintain and analyze Project and Construction-In-Progress charges in their proper ledgers and sub ledgers (project revenues, costs, assets, and liabilities identified and allocated to each project)

· Assist Project Managers and Design partners in preparing and changing project budget work orders.

· Monitor labor and expenses.

Financial Reporting – Real Estate Development

· Prepare reports for development, redevelopment, and tenant improvement projects.

· Generate reports on the progress of completion of a project, using key performance indicators and with the assistance of a project manager and other project accountants.

· Create analytics for all Real Estate developments.

· Prepare all relevant disclosures for the company’s 10Q/10K and other supplementals reports.

Miscellaneous

· Assist in external and internal audits.

· Accept any other ad-hoc duties as needed.

REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT ACCOUNTANT QUALIFICATIONS

Required

· At least three (3) years of work experience in the field of general ledger accounting

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or another related field

Preferred

· Real estate/property management/construction industry experience

· CPA

· Big 4 employment

· Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT ACCOUNTANT SKILLS
