Job Description



The Production Supervisor will be responsible for managing assigned employees. The key responsibilities of this position will include overseeing safety, quality, production, production-related metrics, administrative tasks, and departmental improvements. This role will also be required to effectively communicate production needs to employees and prioritize employee relationships and development. Additionally, the supervisor will collaborate with other production supervisors, managers, quality control, and product design and development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages operations in their area to ensure the safe and timely completion of production schedules or department work. This is achieved by effectively utilizing people, equipment, and materials, including coordination of Team Leaders (if applicable), maintaining time and production records, and setting up job assignments and work for department employees.
  • Maintains a safe working environment in their area and promotes safety awareness among associates, enforcing safety regulations.
  • Ensures the team maintains overall quality levels and meets on-time delivery schedules.
  • Inspects production/department work to ensure compliance with specifications and directs necessary adjustments.
  • Supervises employee activities, including performance evaluation, discipline, training and development, problem analysis and resolution, motivation, and effective communication.
  • Studies production/department work schedules and estimates employee hour requirements for task completion. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production/department goals.
  • Actively works on process improvement and departmental efficiency, making recommendations for production methods, equipment performance, work quality, working conditions, and equipment usage.
  • Interacts with various levels of personnel in the plant, including quality control, industrial engineering, and product development and design.
  • Communicates with other supervisors or managers to coordinate activities between departments or areas.
  • Actively participates in the entire Operations Team, supporting strategic plans and implementing initiatives.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management

  • Preferred bilingual proficiency in both Spanish and English (speaking, reading, and writing).

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience Required:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of “Lean Manufacturing”, the 5s, and other process improvement skills desirable.
  • Previous leadership and/or upholstery manufacturing experience desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measure (whole numbers, fractions, decimals)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be a licensed driver with a good driving record (subject to MVR)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment with temperatures potentially exceeding outside air temperature.
  • Willingness to work outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions.
  • Capacity to sit, stand, and bend for extended periods.
  • Readiness to wear appropriate safety equipment as required.
  • Capability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds when necessary.
  • This position is safety sensitive.
