Job Title: Substance Abuse Counselor - Perinatal Program

Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt

Salary: $26.00 - $30.00/hour (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8-hour shift

Reports to: Perinatal Program Manager

Work Location: In-person

Requirements:

• 1 year of addiction counseling experience
• Substance Abuse Registration/Certification from a State of California Accredited Institution (CCAPP, CAADE, CADTP)

Essential Duties:

• Provide individual and group counseling and education
• Manage assigned caseload, including treatment evaluations, treatment plans, and progress updates
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and records
• Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and training sessions
• Respond to phone calls and emails in a timely and professional manner
• Maintain current license/certification and complete required CEUs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or 2+ years of counseling experience
• Proficiency in electronic health records and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong technical skills and ability to learn agency-specific software
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with clients, staff, and external agencies

Preferred Qualities:

• Familiarity with outpatient treatment modality and addiction treatment
• Ability to problem-solve and resolve conflict effectively
• Strong initiative, conscientiousness, reliability, and adherence to ethical codes

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently (Spanish proficiency a plus).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
