Job Description

Our client, an O&G related construction company, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Equipment/Fleet Manager to manage the operation and maintenance of the company vehicles and heavy equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Full ownership and accountability for the operation and maintenance of company vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Full ownership of company heavy hauling and logistics
• Track all rental equipment, solicit dealers for pricing, schedule in/out dates, keep up with renewal dates, and rates.
• Support Operations to ensure all Fleet and Equipment needs are met.
• Oversee DOT compliance and reporting as it relates to the fleet
• Accountable for financial metrics as it relates to fleet and equipment.
• General Duties:

• Compile and prepare reports and documents pertaining to safety, compliance activities, fuel usage, and equipment usage efficiencies
• Compile, prepare, and analyze financial metrics as it relates to fleet and equipment (i.e. Utilization Rates) and provide recommendations on sale/purchase of assets.
• Coordinate the licensing, registration, permitting and state inspection of all vehicles and equipment as required
• Review and manage spend data
• Review and approve all equipment invoices for repair and purchases
• Schedule and ensure proper maintenance and repairs of all fleet and equipment, allocate to correct asset ID, project or cost center
• Track and maintain a running list of the company’s equipment and inventory.
• Update equipment database as needed
• Track and allocate owned equipment and vehicle usage via ProCore.
• Provide equipment and fleet pricing for bids as needed
• Negotiate rental agreements with vendors and issue POs as needed
• Schedule bulk fuel for projects as requested

• Automotive Fleet:

• Source and procure all automotive fleet vehicles
• Manage upfitting and marketing installation
• Review automotive fleet fuel charges and notify management of unauthorized charges

• Heavy Haul/DOT:

• Staff, schedule and manage company class A CDL drivers
• Allocate heavy haul charges and manhours to proper cost centers and projects.
• Assist project management in sourcing third party trucking

• Heavy/Light Equipment & Trailers:

• Assist project management in sourcing rental equipment
• Negotiate rental equipment repair costs with vendors

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in fleet or asset management, logistics, scheduling, maintenance, and repair.
• Strong experience with and/or understanding of construction operations, purchasing, inventory and equipment budgets, capital expenditure justification, advanced root cause problem-solving.
• Good financial management and planning skills; ability to understand financial terms, budgets, tables, and reports.
• Ability to develop realistic, comprehensive plans to make efficient use of resources.
• Valid driver’s license required, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.
